The Rugby Football Union is looking to appoint a Community Rugby Coach (CRC) as part of its Strategic Plan and in conjunction with Sport England’s Whole Sport Plan process. The CRC will play a major role in supporting the growth and sustainability of Rugby Union across the area under the direction of the RFU Rugby Development Officer (RDO).
Responsibilities:
- To deliver high quality coaching to people of all ages and particularly 16 years and above in local clubs, schools and further and higher education establishments.
- To deliver ongoing support and sustainability through coach, volunteer and teacher education.
- To introduce leadership skills and opportunities to young people and other volunteers.
- To take a professional approach in the planning, preparation and organisation of coaching sessions and Rugby Union activities.
- To build and maintain strong partnership relationships and report on a comprehensive Rugby Union programme as established by the RDO and funding partners.
Qualifications:
- Must be educated to a minimum of 'GCSE' standard preferably with at least five GCSEs at grade C or above.
- Will have experience of coaching people of all ages.
Preferred candidates should also hold:
- an RFU coaching qualification (minimum Level 2 or working towards)
- Current Driving Licence
Additional Information:
Ideally the successful candidate should be a rugby player and already have a good knowledge and understanding of the game and the operation of club rugby union. They should be keen to develop a career in the sports/leisure industry. The role will require flexibility to work regularly at weekends.
