The intern's main purpose is to
concentrate on creating videos for the New Media Deapartment. This
person will create ideas, write for broadcast, shoot, produce &
edit the videos.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Produce videos for the website teamusa.org by:
Creating ideas for video content
Organize the shooting location & talent
Script or outline the shooting & editing of the project
Shoot the project by themselves - including lighting & audio set up
Edit the project on Adobe Premiere
Convert & upload the video file to the web hosting site
- Encode, convert & upload pre-existing footage from various tape formats
- Edit other projects assigned
- Help assist for big shooting events
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT:
- Standard office equipment
- Adobe Premiere & Photoshop
- Lighting & audio equipment
- DV Camera
CONDITIONS:
- Non-traditional work hours including weekends and holidays
- Office environment in a multi-story building on a multi-building site
- Non-traditional office environment at games or meeting sites
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master degree program in the
fields of broadcasting or communications/journalism/elctronic media
- Have a working knowledge of:
Adobe Premiere & Photoshop
Lighting for interviews
Audio techniques for interviews
Camera operation of prosumer DV camera (DVX100)
- Video Production experience
- Must have proficient knowledge of broadcast-quality cameras, editing skills and be familiar with different tape formats.
- Must be proficicient with Adobe CS3 Suite for Photoshop, After Effects & Premiere, Field lighting and audio knowledge
- Ability to produce/broadcast writing/shoot/edit videos unsupervised.
- Knowledge of copyright laws.
- Knowledge of different file codecs (AVI, MOV, WMV…)
- Intern must work no more than 40 hours per week
- Work at night and on weekends
- Be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to do all aspects of production from ideas to final product
