Do you have the vision and leadership qualities needed to be CEO of the governing body of one of the UK’s most successful sports?
The RYA, based in Hamble near Southampton, is the national governing body for the sports of sailing, windsurfing, motor boating and powerboat racing. It is an association with over 100,000 members and an expanding business with over 150 employees and an annual turnover of £18m generated from subscriptions, trading, grants and sponsorship.
We are seeking a Chief Executive to succeed Rod Carr when he retires in February 2010. This key role will require:
- an experienced leader and manager
- a broad knowledge of recreational boating
- excellent inter-personal skills at all levels from grass-roots participants to government ministers
- commercial experience
- the ability to be a strong advocate for the RYA and for the sport.
