Qualified person centered counselor (I am English of French origin) specialising in sports retirement, and other personal issues related to your involvement in sport. These can include burnout, overtraining, dissatisfaction with your life in sport, deselection, recovery from injury and facing up to retirement.
Personal counseling is not designed to improve your sporting performance, although resolving personal issues may help to enhance your role as a sportsman. Personal counseling also allows you to look at issues you would not normally discuss with your coach, team mates or even close friends and family members, in total confidence.
Personal counseling of sports professionals trying to cope with the trauma and challenges of retirement from professional sport and planning a second career; helping you deal with other personal issues related to your life as a sportsman. If you are approaching retirement, I offer a personal support role during what can be a difficult time of transtion, helping you to re-assess your personal strengths and set new goals for your life and career after sport.
Typical issues that can be covered in counselling include
- self-identity
- coping skills
- developing a sense of control
- social support
- coping with transitions
- preparing for a life after sport
Counseling and support are available face-to-face, by telephone and email. I am a director of a not-for-profit French charity (Person-Centered Counseling) so our services are open to all. Fees have deliberately been kept low and range from no-cost to low-cost (average 30 euros or the equivalent in £s, per hour) according to your means.
Although I am primaily based in France, my services are available anywhere and I have an English contact phone (01293 95 21 25) which will transfer your call to me at no extra cost. Afterwards we can use Skype etc.
