Profile Summary
Specialist in anxiety, confidence & overcoming setbacks.
I also compete in swim, bike and run races and have raced for GB and Ireland. Being a competitive athlete I have some insight into the demands of training, competing, trying to perform at my best and dealing with various setbacks.

I offer consultations in Victoria and East Dulwich (London), or over the telephone. I also travel to the training and competitions (if desired) which helps me to understand better and give suggestions that can be tested there and then. This accelerates progress.

I have helped to improve the performance of athletes in a wide range of sports including golf, tennis, fencing, swimming, cricket, triathlon, football, table tennis, ten-pin bowling, cycling, running, shooting, rowing (from 2 KM to across the Atlantic races), boxing and motor-racing.
I work with a mixture of amateur and professional clients. Professional clients include national champions and those in the top 3 in the world.
I am a competitive athlete myself. I race triathlons. High points have been winning a sliver medal at the Nationals, and racing the World Championships twice (2002 & 2005). Many people I work with comment on how beneficial it is to be able to bring an insight as a competitor myself.
I have worked in the NHS as a psychologist since 1995 and in sports psychology since 1998.

I will not name any athletes here as I respect their confidence.

In 2001, I won a silver medal in my age-group at the British Triathlon Association National Sprint Championships. In 2002, I qualified to represent Great Britain in the ITU Age Group Triathlon World Championships in Mexico. It was great to be part of the national team at the World Championships, to compete with the world's best and to exceed my goals.
After a couple of years of doing different races (e.g., Half-Ironman triathlons), in 2005, I qualified to represent Ireland at to the Triathlon World Championships in Hawaii in October. This was a great race and a great place to have a holiday afterwards! After watching the Ironman Triathlon World Championships in Hawaii I set my sights on competing in my first Ironman.
In 2006 I complete Ironman Switzerland (swim 2.4 miles, cycle 112 miles, marathon run). However, because my stomach shut down during the race I couldn't absorb much, if any, fluids or solids. After some incorrect medical treatment after the race I woke up 2 days later in intensive care on a ventilator.
It's been quite a journey back from there last year, but I'm back competing and doing what I enjoy.
