- an 'Ed & Phil Runner's Log' for runners to keep a record of their training programmes, races, etc,and which is currently being sold through a number of running and sports retail shops as well as on-line. We customise the cover for each shop to give them and exclusive product which also helps promote their business
- an 'Ed & Phil Runner's Toolkit for Beginners' which does what it says on the tin - helps complete beginners go from 'can't run' to 'do run' in three stages, getting them up their first 10k by the end of the 3 modules. It includes a registration process and email support. It has had a great write up for its unique approach in 'Athletics Weekly'
- 'Ed & Phil's Fit Food' - a precise, fun and easy to absorb book on eating and drinking healthily without lots of jargon and science but good, basic advice on how to eat and drink healthy to help sustain a fit and healthy lifestyle
- the 'Ed & Phil Get Fit and Healthy' seminar which typically lasts for half a day and which covers much of the material included in the books (but not just about running)
- Phillip is a Level 2 UK Athletics Coach
- Edward is fully trained Triathlon Coach
In addition, we are both very experienced presenters.
Phillip has been key note speaker at conferences throughout Europe and the USA and has also managed and run many 1 and 2 day training seminars.
Edward has been a speaker and presenter for many events based on his profession
- Phillip is a fully qualifed marketing man with an MBA from Warwick University and a BA in Business Studies
- Edward is a fully qualified accountant and a member of his professional association
Our clients are currently a (growing) number of sports retail shops throughout the UK
We have yet to deliver our first company seminar, but we have presented on the subject on health and fitness - for instance a the 'One Life' exhibition held in Earls Court in March 2008
"The Runner's Toolkit for Beginners' is one of the most unusual items to land in Athletic Weekly's mailbag recently. It is a diary and beginners' manual in one and comes in a fancy clip folder which makes the pages easy to insert or take out. Fancy is the word too, as it is designed in a refreshing and modern fashion and it is appropriate that it is for fun runners because fun oozes from the pages. This book has a sense of humour but is also serious enough to help you on your journey from beginner to something more serious. The fact the authors are keen fun runners too makes them understand their audience and this shines through in the book. And their theory is summed up on the front cover with the statement: 'All you need to get running with none of the stuff that will confuse and frighten you .... Certified free of strange Latin names, complicated formulas, technical terms or hype'. This book is not available widely - but it should be."
A quote from one of the first buyers of 'Ed & Phil's Fit Food':
Ed, a big man with a big heart came late to running, but is a passionate convert. He finds it hard to keep the weight down, but is mentally tough as nails - ‘when the going gets tough, the tough get going’ was written for him! Not out to break world records, but just keeps going, and going …… and going! (He’s a trained accountant, so he loves the big mile numbers.) Ed is always looking for the next running challenge, the more exotic the better, and he is committed to helping and encouraging runners to get ‘off road’ – hence his other business, ‘Run the Country’.
‘Phil’ is Phillip Howells, early 60s, living in Herefordshire and widowed. An enthusiastic ‘Peter Pan’, he’s rather older than he looks! He was an experienced runner in his younger days, but made making a comeback in his 50s and is an athletic renaissance man, fitter, leaner and more dedicated than ever before. He is still targeting to better the personal bests (pbs) of his youth and has done so several times, but his long term aim is lifestyle, fitness and energy. He is grittily ‘determined’; it’s his middle name! Phil is keen to help others get equally fit and healthy to make more of their lives and, if that is their ambition, to achieve performances and experiences they currently only dream of.
