Allardyce Mobile Phone Ban Prior to Heart Surgery

According to the Daily Mail, Sam Allardyce's wife, Lynn, will ban him from using his mobile phone tonight to ensure he has no involvement in Blackburn Rovers' Premier League match with Fulham. The Blackburn Rovers manager, 55, is set to undergo heart surgery on Friday.

This just put a question in my mind: Would it be more stressful to know that the game was taking place and not be able to exert any influence on it; or to be at home, safe in the knowledge that you could communicate with your coaching staff and relay any instructions?

I guess this assumes that Big Sam will be watching the game on TV, which may indeed be the biggest stressor of all!

Either way, let's hope that the heart surgery goes well and that he makes a strong recovery.
