US, England and Qatar bid teams join Leaders in Football - what does it mean?
US, England and Qatar bid teams join Leaders in Football. Some of the major figures involved in the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup bidding nations will address Leaders in Football which takes place at Chelsea FC, London in just 3 weeks time on 7th and 8th October.
Lord Triesman, Chairman of The Football Association and also England’s bid to host the 2018 World Cup and who raised the agenda of debt in football at a time when the financial crisis was deepening in 2008, will be opening day 2 with a keynote speech that will no doubt reflect a turbulent year in football.
Don Garber, the respected Commissioner of Major League Soccer and an influential figure on the US World Cup bid team, will discuss the development of the professional game in the US and will join the debate around how best to narrow the wealth gap between professional leagues around the world.
Finally Hassan Al Thawadi, CEO of Qatar’s ambitious bid to host the 2022 World Cup, which would be a first for the Middle East, will join a panel of leading Middle Eastern investors on what it would mean to win their bid and on the wider contribution the Middle East is making to the funding of sport world-wide.
For sports marketing executives and would be major organisers of major sporting events is this a plaftorm for telling the world how great you are and why you deserve to host such a global event or is it a wonderful oppportunity for those that do and have done it (bought the t-shirt etc) to genuinely network and learn from each other so that such events improve continuously?

This is running alongside Leaders in Performance, a global conference showcasing the best achievers in world class performance covering athletics, football, basketball, hockey, soccer, cycling, tennis and more.
