Focus On Manchester United: A Sport Psychologists Bet
I have just watched the Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez interview where he once again enters into an attack on the Manchester United Manager Alex Ferguson.
I was very surprised that he again feels it necessary to express his feelings so publically. Last time the famous 'Rafa's Rant' was followed by a series of lost games. My prediction (and if I can work out how to take this off of here I will if it all goes wrong) is that this will take away from a focus of the Liverpool team who appear to have momentum currently from how they win to a we must beat United focus. The latter something that they have very little control of as they take to the field in their remaining fixtures (none of which against United unless both teams progress in the Champions League). On the other hand Manchester United players must surely be thinking that they have the Liverpool team rattled.
This could well back fire on me but I do think that this highlights the importance of leadership around these crucial times. The momentum in my opinion now firmly swings back in favor of United.
